Downsize Baggy Formal Pants! How to Fix a Baggy Crotch in Pants Without Sewing

Yeah! One of the most common but frustrating thing that could happen to a new buyer.  But don’t worry; we have got you covered. In this blog, we will go over how you can fix this issue.

Even if you don’t know anything about sewing. Only thing need is right tools and materials.

1. Stuff One Need to Gather

1.1 Fabric adhesive tape

To fix your pants, first of all, buy fabric tape. If you don’t know how to sew, then you can always go for it.

1.2 Iron and ironing board

You will need these tools to set the adhesive properly on your pants.

1.3 Mirror

A full-length mirror is required for you to assess fit properly.

1.4 Safety pins

Drying adhesive will take time. That’s why you will need safety pins to hold the fabric in place.

1.5 helping hand

For fitting and adjustments, you will need help, so make sure to get help from your friend or family member. They will help you in assessing the adjustment properly.

2. Step By Steps Guide 

Now, let’s dive into the steps to fix a baggy crotch without sewing:

2.1 Step 1: Assess the Fit

After putting on your pants, stand in front of the mirror, and you need to take a good to identify

where the bagginess occurs. This inspection will help you find out the areas that need adjustment.

2.2 Step 2: Pinching Extra Fabric

In this step, you need to pinch the excess fabric to eliminate back crotch length. But while pinching, make sure not to overdo it because overdoing can result in tightening your pants; you want to maintain your comfort right.

2.3 Step 3: Applying Adhesive

After you have pinched the extra fabric now, you have to apply fabric tape to it. Here is how you can apply it: You must carefully remove the safety pins holding the material in place.

After that, apply a thin layer of fabric glue to the folded fabric. Ensure to have the fabric for a few minutes after applying the adhesive tape.

2.4 Step 4: Drying Adhesive

After you have applied the fabric tape on your baggy pants properly, you just need to leave it for a few hours to dry it, maybe grab a coffee until then!. This will take some time, so be patient when drying it out.

2.5 Step 5: Check the Fitting

After the adhesive has dried out, now you need to put the pants back on and assess the fit in front of the mirror. You will see a big difference in the crotch area and fix baggy crotch in no time.

If it still doesn’t meet your requirements, just repeat this process as much as needed. Also, In sewing, you can only make readjustments slowly, but you can make adjustments many times in this process.

2.6 Step 6: Trimming the Extra Fabric

This step is optional for fixing baggy crotch jeans, so if you want to trim the excess fabric, you can do so with scissors. But, If you are doing it, then don’t cut all the extra material and leave out some.

2.7 Step 7: Ironing for Finishing

For proper neat finishing, you can iron your pants, but do it gently. Ironing will help set the adhesive properly, too.
