Okay, let on the main topic! Alright ladies, now you have understood what you need and how long it will take, let’s get into the main thing you are here for:

3.1.Select Fabric

First and foremost you begin by selecting a fabric of your choice. Just make sure it is enough to create your desired dress length.

If you are confused between different fabrics than you can use chiffon and tulle. They are super trendy nowadays and are comfortable to work with.

3.2 Cutting and Measurement

Moving on the preparation step for sewing. In this step, you need to cut the fabric you have chosen to create a top according to your fitting.

Here you wanna begin by measuring your bust and waist area. Write these details down, as they will guide you in creating the right-sized dress.

After that, cut a large rectangle for the main part of the dress. If you’re thinking of making a sleeveless dress just add two holes in it.

If you love sleeves and want to add them then you need to cut additional rectangles for them.

3.3 Create the Bodice

Next up, you need to create a bodice. This process might sound difficult but it’s easy. for bodice you just need to fold the top layer of the fabric.

Now secure the fold you have created with fabric glue and make sure it’s even on both sides.

3.4 Add Closure

Now let’s move onto the 4th step, this step is all about adding closures.

Depending on your dress design, you can add Velcro or hook-and-loop tape to create a secure closure for your outfit.

It’s easy to apply too, you just need to apply this tape on one side of the folded bodice. Repeat the entire process to the other end and add ribbons too. These closures will make your top look more professional.

3.5 Skirt Design

Okay, on the fun part of designing the skirt. But, before starting you need to finalize the shape of your skirt. Choose A-line or maxi (They look good on all body types).

Now, cut the fabric to the shape you have chosen. After that attach the skirt to the bodice with fabric glue.
