In this piece, I will delve deep into everything you need to know about a frontal sew-in lace. So you can effortlessly explain the desired result to your hair stylist and achieve it.

There are specifically three things you need to know, let’s go over them one by one.

1. What is a Frontal Sew-In Lace?

Let’s start by covering the basis so we all can be on the same page.

Definition wise, a lace frontal sew-in  is a hairstyling method that combines the use of a lace frontal and sewing technique.

Perfect for creating a natural, versatile, and protective hairstyle,  a lace frontal is a hairpiece made of delicate lace material. It is specifically designed to mimic the appearance of a natural hairline and scalp.

Its most key feature is that it can cover the  entire front hairline. Specifically from ear to ear, which all taken together, gives a realistic, full-size hairstyle look and vibe to the individual.

2. Differences Between Lace Frontals and Lace Closures

Okay, now let’s move on to understanding the difference between lace frontals and lace closure as it can be a little confusing. Let’s understand the crucial difference between them by going over what functions they serve.

Definition wise a lace closure is a smaller piece that covers a specific portion of the head. Usually the crown area though it can change depending on the design you are following.

The main purpose is to help create a natural parting. It can be at the  side part or near the middle part. It is easy to identify as It is often shaped like a horseshoe.

One easy way to identify it is to simply pull back the hair, and should be able to see the tracks as it becomes exposed.

In stark comparison to that a lace frontal is a more all composing piece. The main purpose it serves is that it covers the entire front hairline. Particularly if you want something that offers an ear to ear look which all together gives off a realistic hairstyle vibe to the look that is perfect for that..

All in all, the most significant difference between the two is that simply lace frontals give individuals the opportunity to create a complete and versatile hairstyle that is not limited to specific partings like the other ones.

3. How are Lace Frontals Measured?

Okay let’s get into the measurement you need to keep in mind at the salon.

The main rule one should keep in mind is that the width of a frontal should always be measured from ear to ear, ensuring it covers the entire front hairline.

Now, the most common measurements you should be aiming for are 13×2 inches, 13×4 inches, 13×6 inches, and the 360 frontal.

Now talk about how to ensure a more natural vibe,

To make the lace frontal appear more realistic, For the best result, it is often advisable to opt for a deeper length for a more realistic look.

The reason behind this is simply the overall depth of the frontal, in turn determines how far back the parting goes, which is a turn that ensures that naturalist look.

As for wearing different styles, for example ponytails and similar partings, the most recommended one is a full lace frontal or a 360-degree frontal.

These options provide more coverage, allowing for a range of styling possibilities.
