How to Make a Dress Bigger Without Sewing?

1.1 Stretching Spray

Stretching spray is one of the most well known methods for making your dress bigger, It is easy to use as well. It will relax the fibers in your garment; simply spray it on your apparel. Here’s how you can utilize it-

To begin, lay your garments flat on a surface. Then, spray it on the areas of your dress you want to expand. Once you’re done with the above mentioned step just let it air dry. Now, your dress is bigger than before.

1.2. Hair Dryer

Don’t worry ladies, if you don’t have stretching spray in your hand, you can use a hair dryer too. This appliance is always in reach. Here’s how to use it:

First of all, put your dress on and after that identify the tight areas. After that, just aim the hair dryer at the tight spots. Heat can stretch your dress fabric easily. 

Keep using the hair dryer until your dress reaches the desired size.

1.3 Ice Cube 

This hack might sound unbelievable but it is a useful one. People often use this method for dresses made from cotton or wool. Here’s how you can use ice cubes:

Firstly, you need to lay your dress on a flat surface. After that, you need a plastic bag. 

Secondly, fill water in your plastic bag and position it on your dress in the area that needs stretching.

Thirdly, you need to put the dress with the bag in the freezer. As the water in the bag freezes, it will stretch the fabric of your dress gently.

In the final step, just  Once the water is completely frozen, remove the dress from the freezer and let the ice melt. The dress will have been stretched to accommodate the bag’s size.

1.4 Steam and Tug

It is one of the most well known hacks, for this hack you just need to iron your dress. This hack is best for outfits made of synthetic fabrics or made with blends. Here’s how you can do this hack: 

First of all, hang your outfit on a hanger. After that, just apply steam to your dress (on areas that need stretching). 

But, before ironing make sure your fabric is damp. Now, continue ironing until your dress reaches your desired size.

2. Some More Methods You Can Try: 

Ladies, if you’re in need of an urgent solution and don’t have the time to sew then you can try these hacks. These hack are super easy and provide instant relief:

2.1.Wear Shapewear 

In situations where you don’t have the time to sew, you can use a shapewear. Shapewear can smooth and shape your body making the outfit fit better without any changes.

Also, choose shapewear that complement your dress’s style and design.

2.2.Waist Belt or Cardigan

Another option is to wear a waist belt. Choose a stylish waist belt that compliments your outfit, It will help create the illusion of a perfect fit. 

You can wear a cardigan too. A cardigan can hide the tightness of your dress easily. These not only add a fashionable touch to your outfit but can also create extra space for you to move comfortably.

2.3. Use Fabric Panels

Now, if you are you are not want to get sewing, then you can always go for fabric panels intead, they are easy to use. You need to attach them to your dress. Here is how you can use them:

First of all, you wanna choose a fabric that matches your dress.  Moving on to cutting the fabric you’ve chosen into strips or panels. And finally, attach fabric panels with the help of fabric glue.

With this, you have successfully altered your dress.

2.4 Safety Pins hack

And last and but on the least is the safety pins hacks. If you have some safety and fabric tape then you can go for this hack, it will provide a quick solution. Here is how to use them:

Firstly, create darts by using safety pins. After that, just use fabric tape to secure the folds  or darts you’ve created. With this you’re done now, enjoy your dress to the fullest.

Many people making a dress bigger without sewing is impossible. However, this is true, you can alter your dress even without sewing by using the hacks mentioned above. They are time tested and are easy to perform as well. 

So, whether you are dealing with a dress that’s too tight or facing weight fluctuations, these above-mentioned hacks will help you enjoy your favorite dresses again without any need of sewing.
