If your sports bra has a lining then use zigzag stitches to sew the front and back pieces together. These stitches are ideal for sports bras. at the side seams.

2.3. Step 3. Attaching Elastic for Support

Third step is all about attaching elastic in the pieces you’ve sewn. A well fitted sports bra requires proper support. Here is how you can add it:

First of all, you need to measure and cut elastic bands according to your measurement. Start by measuring the underbust band and shoulder area. Make sure to use stretch stitch as they will secure the elastic you have added.

2.4. Step 4. Assembling Pieces

Alright ladies, let’s move on to the most important step of the process. Here is how:

Place the front and back fabric pieces together and start sewing till the neckline and armholes. If you are thinking of adding a lining layer then make sure to see it separately. Sewing along with main fabric pieces can diminish the overall fit of your sports bra.
